Travis Tims named NWL Trainer of the Year
In his 3rd season with the Canadians, the native of New Mexico has helped managed more than 150 players over the past three seasons in Vancouver as well as handling a number of additional players while helping the Oakland Athletics during Spring Training annually.
"This award is as much about the work that Glenn Hall (clubhouse attendant) does as anything I do," said Tims just hours after finding out about his latest accolade.
Canadians manager Rick Magnante says that Tims is very deserving of the award.
"Travis has the traits you hope to find in a trainer that one day could do the job at the Major League level".
Tims is the second Trainer to receive the Northwest League Trainer of the Year award under the tutelage of Magnante since 2006.
Tims attended Oregon State University and was a member of the collegiate baseball program that would go onto win the NCAA College World Series.
Tims also worked within the Seattle Mariners organization during their Fall Extended season (2007) where the M's would win the Fall League Championship.
