P-Rays Unveil 2015 Roster

The Princeton Rays arrived throughout the day today (June 19) to Hunnicutt Field and the P-Rays also unveiled the list of names of those who will be representing Princeton to begin the 2015 Appalachian League season. There will be three players from last season, including infielder Bill Pujols, outfielder Patrick Grady, and pitcher Ruben Paredes.

Among the players arriving in Princeton for their first year of Appy League action include the following:

Pitchers (14)

Jose Alvarado: 2 years VSL, 1 year GCL Rays, Led the VSL Rays with 54 strikeouts in 2013

Armando Bastardo: 3 years VSL

Blake Bivens: 1 year GCL Rays

Brock Burke: 1 year GCL Rays

Genesis Cabrera: 1 year DSL Rays

Alberto Casanas: 2 years VSL, 1 year GCL Rays

Porter Clayton: "Drafted by the New York Yankees in the 21st round of the 2014 MLB June Amateur Draft from University of Oregon (Eugene , OR) and the Tampa Bay Rays in the 19th round of the 2015 MLB June Amateur Draft from Dixie State College of Utah (St. George , UT)." Junior Feliz: DSL 2 years, GCL 1 year

Ian Gibaut: 22 year old pitcher out Tulane University, alma mater of Brandon Gomes , MLB.com had him ranked as the 130th best player in the draft , Probably would have been a higher pick, but an injury lowered his stock (DraysBay)

Deivy Mendez: 1 year DSL, 1 year GCL

Spencer Moran: 1 year GCL

Jose Mujica: 2 years GCL

Ruben Paredes: 1 year DSL, 2 years GCL

Noel Rodriguez: 21 year old pitcher out of Paradise Valley Community College, Was 1-1 with a 1.19 ERA in 37 innings pitched this past season (DraysBay)

His plate discipline was bad, especially by college standards, as his strikeout to walk ratio was just 21-11. Landon Cray: CF, "Cray, who is 5'9″ and 170 pounds, is a centerfielder out of Seattle University who stood out enough for his excellent defense, strong plate approach, and blazing speed that the Tampa Bay Rays made him their 18th round selection." Patrick Grady: LF/RF, Returning Player, "As a senior at DII Lander University, Grady's numbers were outstanding. He would hit .386/.518/.614 in 236 at-bats while putting up a BB-K ratio of 48-36. Grady would also score 91 runs in just 61 games (ranking first in DII), and went a perfect 16-16 in stolen base attempts."
