Fireworks, exciting giveaways highlight 8-game homestand
The Tides have several exciting events and promotions lined up for the upcoming eight-game homestand.
Norfolk opens a three-game series against the top affiliate of the Detroit Tigers - the Toledo Mud Hens- in a 7:05 game Friday night. The first 3,000 fans entering Harbor Park will receive a pair of Tides flip flops courtesy of John's Tax Service and 13NewsNow. There will also be a special appearance by the hilarious mascot, Reggy the Purple Party Dude. There will be dancing, silly string, and tons of laughs. Friday also features a shoe drive benefiting the Got Sole Project. Bring out some old shoes and donate them to a great cause.
On Saturday night, costumed characters from throughout the galaxy will visit Harbor Park as part of our annual Star Wars Night celebration. Take pictures with Storm Troopers, Jedi Knights and Tuscan Raiders, and maybe even pull the ears off of a Gundark. Make sure to stay after the game for postgame fireworks presented by your local Ford dealers. Saturday afternoon is a Junior Tides night, as members of our exciting kids club will gain early entrance to the ballpark for an exclusive photo session with a Tides player.
On Sunday, the first 4,000 fans entering Harbor Park will receive a collective photo of Tides pitcher Chris Jones courtesy of Johnny Rockets and ESPN Radio 94.1 FM. After the 1:05 game, the Tides and the Virginia Putative Father Registry invite you to play a game of catch on the field.
The Tides take on the top affiliate of the Chicago White Sox- the Charlotte Knights- in a three game series beginning Monday night at 7:05. Join the Tides and Ready Hampton Roads as they team up to ensure everyone is well informed and prepared for Hurricane Season, which begins June 1 and continues through November 30. Ready Hampton Roads will be giving prizes and will help keep you safe for Hurricane Season. After the game, fans of all ages (yes, even adults!) can run the bases.
Tuesday afternoon at 12:05 the Tides play host to Charlotte in a Business Special. Punch the clock for your lunch hour, come to Harbor Park, and spend the rest of your afternoon enjoying a game of baseball. Your boss won't mind one bit.
Norfolk wraps up its series with Charlotte Wednesday night at 7:05. The Tides are hosting James Madison Night, as we welcome all JMU students and alumni for a special night at Harbor Park. Also, the first 2,000 fans ages 17 and under will receive the second of three sets of Tides baseball cards courtesy of John's Tax Service and SKY4. Collect all three sets to have a complete 2015 Norfolk Tides team set.
Thursday night at 7:05 the Tides welcome the Durham Bulls to town, and Harbor Park will be filled with several costumed characters as part of Superhero Night. The Tides will be giving away thousands of comic books that you can add to your collection, and fans are encouraged to dress up in their favorite superhero outfits. Make sure to stay after the game to end the night with a bang with post-game fireworks presented by FNV.
In the final game of the homestand, the Tides take on Durham at 7:05 on Friday, July 3. Come out and enjoy America's pastime on America's holiday, as we celebrate the Fourth of July a day early with post-game fireworks presented by Liberty Tax.
