Salt Lake Takes The Victory

June 28, 2015
SALT LAKE BEES (June 27) - C.J. Cron scored the go-ahead run on tape measure shot to left field in the sixth inning and the Salt Lake Bees bested the Albuquerque Isotopes 8-6 Saturday night at Smith's Ballpark. The Bees fell to a 6-2 deficit after four and one-half innings, but a four-run fifth, in which Salt Lake brought 10 batters to the plate, evened the score at 6-6. Cron's homer put the Bees on top for good in the sixth and Ryan Jackson added an insurance RBI in the seventh as the Bees claimed their second consecutive victory over the Isotopes.

With the Bees on a MLB rehabilitation assignment, Cory Rasmus made the start and worked two and one-third innings, allowing one run and whiffing five of the nine batters he faced. Adam Wilk (3-5) took the bulk of the load from the mound with five innings pitched and collected his first win of June and first overall victory at Smith's Ballpark. Mike Morin, also on a MLB rehabilitation assignment, pitched a scoreless ninth to earn the save. As a team, Salt Lake collected 15 hits with Ryan Jackson leading the effort with a three-for-five night and two RBIs. Five additional Bees knocked multiple hits in the game.

The Bees see the Isotopes for two additional games at home, including Sunday at 1:05 p.m., before hitting the road for a four-game set at Sacramento. For more information or for tickets, visit www.slbees.com.
