Blue Rocks to Host Two Fireworks Nights During Upcoming Home Stand

Frawley Stadium kicks off the Independence Day celebration with a bang
June 30, 2015

WILMINGTON, Del.- Frawley Stadium has become known for its Fireworks Fridays after every Blue Rocks home Friday contest, but with Independence Day right around the corner, the Rocks have decided that one night isn't enough. The team will be getting the Independence Day party started early and in style with a postgame fireworks show on Thursday, July 2 and Friday, July 3. The events are part of a big three-game home stand which will see the first-half Carolina League Northern Division champion Blue Rocks play host to the Lynchburg Hillcats.

The home stand begins on Wednesday, July 1 as the Blue Rocks welcome the Hillcats to town for a 6:35 p.m. contest. As is the case with all Wednesday home tilts, July 1 will be Winning Wednesday at the ballpark, presented by the Delaware Lottery. Throughout the course of the night, the Blue Rocks will give away prizes valued at $100 or more, with items such as a baseball/softball hitting net from Dick's Sporting Goods and coupons to both Bonefish Grill and Buffalo Wild Wings up for grabs. Fans can fill out a ticket to be entered into a raffle, with winners being selected at random. If the Blue Rocks win, fans' tickets are good for a General Admission seat to the next Wednesday home game.

Not only will Frawley Stadium light up the night sky with fireworks after the Thursday, July 2 game, but fans can also enjoy another Beer: 30 Thursday from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. that evening, presented by Dogfish Head. During every Beer :30 Thursday, fans can enjoy craft beers at amazing prices, including Dogfish Head 60 Minute IPA drafts for $3, 90 Minute IPA bottles for $3, and Domestics and Wines for $2 each. The Blue Rocks also feature a different Dogfish Head seasonal or specialty ale on specific Thursdays throughout the 2015 campaign, with the July 2 game showcasing the seasonal Festina Peche brew. First pitch for the Thursday contest is slated for 6:35 p.m.

The Blue Rocks will wrap up the three-game home stand on Friday, July 3 with a 7:05 p.m. game against Lynchburg. The holiday festivities get started early with Rocky's Red, White, and Blue BBQ. For $22, fans can get themselves a ticket to the picnic area, as well as access to the BBQ. The event will feature a two-hour buffet in the picnic area, which includes foods such as pulled pork, hot dogs, and macaroni and cheese. Tickets to the BBQ must be purchased in advance here, or by calling the front office at 302-888-5358. Fans will also be able to experience yet another Fireworks Friday after the contest, presented by Bank of America. All the events on Friday are part of the Blue Rocks' Independence Day Celebration and postgame fireworks show, presented by Dietz and Watson.

With the calendar flipping to July, the Blue Rocks are bringing the Independence Day celebration to the riverfront in a big way, and they hope to share that good time with you.
