Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat to Make Nymeo Field Appearance

WWE Hall of Famer to Sign Autographs and Greet Fans

FREDERICK, Md. -This Sunday, July 12, WWE Hall of Fame wrestler, Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat, will be visiting Nymeo Field. First pitch is scheduled for 4:00 p.m and gates open at three when the Frederick Keys take on the Salem Red Sox. Steamboat will be on hand to sign autographs and greet fans throughout the game.

A former NWA World Heavyweight Champion and a WWF Inter-continental Heavyweight Champion, Steamboat has held nearly every major championship wrestling belt in the United States. Competing professionally for 17 years, the Hawaii native has wrestled in 44 states as well as Japan, Puerto Rico, Austrailia, the Bahamas and Canada.

In addition to his wrestling exploits, Steamboat has won the Mr. North Carolina Body Building Championship, was a cast member on the "A-Team" and a guest star on "Sidekicks" while he has appeared in more than 20 wrestling videos. Steamboat also devotes his time to annual fundraising events for muscular dystrophy and united cerebral palsy. 

The appearance by Steamboat concludes a fun weekend at Nymeo Field. In addition to Sunday's appearance by the WWE Hall of Famer, it is a Sunday Funday at the ballpark presented by Heartfields Assisted Living at Frederick. Fans are invited onto the outfield for a pre-game catch from 3-3:30 p.m while two Keys players will also be signing autographs at that time.

Friday night is Minion night at the ballpark, with gates opening at six before a 7 o'clock first pitch. Youngsters are invited to meet their favorite yellow creatures during this special Kids Club event. The Keys will also be wearing specialty hats that will be auctioned off during the game to benefit Heartly House. After the game there will be fireworks presented by Quincy Village and Comfort Inn.

Additionally, Saturday night is Scout Night. Local troops are invited to the game and can participate in a post-game sleepover presented by Wegmans. Prior to that, there will be fireworks courtesy of Wegmans, the Lube Center, the Auto Spa and the Auto Repair. First pitch is slated for 6:00 p.m with gates opening at five.
