Jarrett, Eitel head to South Bend

Pair promoted to SilverHawks for Midwest League playoff run

MISSOULA, MT - The Missoula Osprey have announced that outfielder Chris Jarrett and right-handed pitcher Derek Eitel have both been promoted to Class A South Bend for the remainder of the 2010 baseball season.

Jarrett, who was acquired by the Arizona Diamondbacks in the 42nd round of the 2010 MLB Draft, was hitting .228 with two home runs and 20 RBIs in 46 games for the Osprey this season. He played in his final game with Missoula on Monday.

Eitel, acquired in the 17th round of the 2010 MLB Draft by the D-backs, had posted a 2-2 record with a 5.11 ERA in 11 appearances, including eight starts, for Missoula, spanning 49 1/3 innings pitched. Eitel is expected to make his pitching debut on Thursday for the SilverHawks.

South Bend, who plays in the Midwest League, is trying to make the playoffs for the sixth straight season. They are currently 50-67 on the season.

The promotions bring the total number of players on the Osprey roster to 30, including 15 pitchers.
