R-Phils to appear on Parco P.I. on Court TV
The show is based on the real life cases of Vinny Parco, a New York City Private Investigator. Parco solves his cases with a team of investigators and a staff that's made up mostly of his very own quirky family. Parco himself is quite a character - charismatic, colorful and very funny.
The episode featuring the R-Phils is titled "Roid Rage."
Most of the show was filmed in Reading and at FirstEnergy Stadium on July 23-24. Game footage from Reading's July 23 game vs. Connecticut will be prominent. Actors from the show will be seen working among the R-Phils in the dugout, on the field and in the clubhouse to recreate the case. Reading catcher Tim Gradoville wore the name "Ross" on his jersey so that the show would have actual game action of one of the story's main characters -- Johnny Ross.
The story line is based loosely on an actual case solved by Parco. No Reading Phillies were using steroids or any other performance enhancing drugs nor under investigation for doing so. The Reading Phillies involvement was simply for dramatic purposes and the setting and is completely fictional. The Reading Phillies feel very fortunate that FirstEnergy Stadium and the city of Reading were chosen to take part in this national TV show.
Parco P.I. is in its second season on Court TV and airs every Wednesday at 10:30 PM (Eastern time).
