Meet Dan Wilson at Mariners Day Aug. 22
Wilson will throw out the ceremonial first pitch prior to the ballgame and will be signing free autographs and taking pictures with fans from 2:15 to 3:35 p.m. in the concourse area behind home plate
The Cincinnati Reds traded Wilson to Seattle in 1993, where he spent the final 12 years of his 14-year MLB career. Known for his superb defensive ability, Wilson finished his career with a .995 fielding percentage and played in more games at catcher than any other player in Mariners history (1,237). He was also selected to the 1996 MLB All-Star Game.
Wilson hit a home run in his one game with the AquaSox in 2000. He retired from the Seattle Mariners in 2005 and has spent some time working with developing catchers in Spring Training, including 2009 first-round selection and current AquaSox Steven Baron.
