Dow Diamond Hosts Regional All-Star Game

High school seniors from the area to play game in Midland on July 15
July 13, 2015

MIDLAND, Mich. - Dow Diamond and the Great Lakes Loons will host a regional high school baseball all-star game on Wednesday, July 15.

Two teams composed of Mid-Michigan's best senior talent will participate in the showcase event in Midland. Gates will open at 5 p.m. First pitch is at 6 p.m. The event is $5 for adults, $3 for senior citizens and kids 12 and under. Fans should park in the lot behind the video board.

"Three or four years ago, the idea for this event was conceived," said tournament volunteer Adam Biggers. "Area coaches have since been involved with putting together teams and making other decisions related to the game."

The North Team was put together by Tri-Cities/Saginaw area coaches. The South Team was formed by selecting the stars from the annual Mott Bruin Club All-Star Classic, a Flint-area tradition aimed to showcase top seniors.

The game will feature players from 26 different area schools (14 North, 12 South), along with nine area coaches. One 9-inning game will be played between the two teams.
