Offensive Players of the Week

Here's a look at the top offensive performers in each league for the week ending July 12:

International League
Oswaldo Arcia, Rochester
(.333/.448/.917, 7 G, 8-for-24, 2 2B, 4 HR, 10 RBI, 8 R, 5 BB, 5 K)
Arcia was sent down to Triple-A in May and has provided a presence in the heart of Rochester's order of late. Six of his eight home runs this season have come in his last 10 games, including four that fell within the last week. The 24-year-old has hits in 13 of his last 14 games, including five multi-hit efforts. Minnesota has a stacked depth chart in the outfield right now and Arcia is currently behind the likes of Torii Hunter, Eddie Rosario, Shane Robinson and Aaron Hicks, but more results like last week's will put pressure on the Twins to make room for the hulking corner outfielder in the second half.

Pacific Coast League
Jeremy Hazelbaker, Memphis
(.429/.448/.893, 7 G, 12-for-28, 5 2B, 1 3B, 2 HR, 13 RBI, 6 R, 1 BB, 8 K, 1 SB)
The 27-year-old joined the Redbirds last week after spending time with Double-A Tulsa and Memphis this season, and he's been seemingly impossible to retire since. Hazelbacker has a .459 average and 1.404 OPS in 10 games with Memphis, slugging two of his three home runs within the past week. On the season, he's hitting.318 with six homers and is 18-for-18 on stolen base attempts. Hazelbaker has played 703 games in the Minors since being drafted in the fourth round of the 2009 Draft by the Red Sox.

Eastern League
Tony Thomas, Erie
(.556/.619/.944, 5 G, 10-for-18, 4 2B, 1 HR, 5 RBI, 6 R, 2 BB, 0 K)
The 2007 third-round pick out of Florida State landed with Erie last month and has found his home run stroke since. The 29-year-old hit safely in each of his five games with the SeaWolves last week, including a four-hit outburst July 10 at Harrisburg that featured a home run, three runs and two RBIs. Thomas first reached Double-A in 2009 and has played for six different teams across Double-A and Triple-A since.

Southern League
Emerson Landoni, Mississippi
(.556/.586/.815, 6 G, 15-for-27, 5 2B, 1 3B, 5 RBI, 10 R, 2 BB, 3 K, 1 CS)
Landoni was already working on a successful week before he came through with a five-hit performance Sunday. The outburst included three doubles, a triple, four runs and three RBIs for the 26-year-old Venezuelan. The shortstop also had two three-hit games and a two-hit outing last week, lifting his average from .229 to .266 over a six-game span. Landoni already has 10 doubles this season for the M-Braves, putting him five shy of his career high through 74 games.

Texas League
Peter Lavin, Tulsa
(.407/.433/.889, 7 G, 11-for-27, 3 2B, 2 3B, 2 HR, 5 RBI, 6 R, 2 BB, 2 K, 1 SB)
The 27-year-old hit safely in each of his seven games last week, collecting three hits on July 8 then notching home runs in consecutive games on July 9 and 10. A 2011 20th-round pick by Philadelphia, Lavin earned Player of the Week honors in the Florida State League in May 2014 but has since moved on to Double-A and to the Dodgers organization. With the Drillers, he has a .234 average with five homers and five stolen bases in 73 games this season.

California League
A.J. Reed, Lancaster
(.632/.696/1.316, 5 G, 12-for-19, 2 2B, 1 3B, 3 HR, 9 RBI, 10 R, 4 BB, 3 K)
It only took half a season for the 2014 second-round pick to hit his way to Double-A, as Reed was promoted to Corpus Christi on Sunday after one final week obliterating Class A Advanced pitching. The first baseman had three hits in three of his five games last week and homered in the other two. He capped his Lancaster career by going 2-for-4 with a homer and four RBIs in a 10-0 win over Rancho Cucamonga on Saturday. That gave him a .346/.449/.638 line in 82 games with the JetHawks, including 23 homers and 16 doubles.

Carolina League
Connor Lien, Carolina
(.375/.429/.667, 7 G, 9-for-24, 1 2B, 2 HR, 6 RBI, 3 R, 3 BB, 5 K, 5 SB, 2 CS)
The 2012 12th-round pick attracted the Braves with his athleticism -- at 6-foot-3 and 205 pounds, he looks more like a football player than your average outfielder. Atlanta thinks he's an outstanding defender in center and has been waiting for the bat to catch up with time. This year, it looks like the 21-year-old has figured some things out at the plate, as he's now batting .291 with five homers and 20 stolen bases with the Mudcats. Lien hit homers in consecutive games last week, including a standout performance July 9 in which he went 4-for-5 with a homer, three RBIs, two runs and three stolen bases.

Florida State League
Tyler Wade, Tampa
(.560/.607/.720, 7 G, 14-for-25, 2 2B, 1 3B, 7 R, 3 BB, 1 K, 1 SB)
Wade was a hit machine for the T-Yanks last week. At one point, the Yankees infielder strung together five straight multi-hit games, including three three-hit performances. He lifted his average from .273 to .297 and also notched his 29th stolen base with Tampa. The Yankees' No. 20 prospect earns plaudits from MLB.com's Prospect Pipeline team for his speed, defense and ability to put the ball in play, all of which are attributes he's showcased in his first Florida State League season.

Midwest League
Colin Bray, Kane County
(.462/.517/.846, 7 G, 12-for-26, 3 2B, 2 3B, 1 HR, 6 RBI, 5 R, 3 BB, 4 K, 1 SB, 1 CS)
The 2013 sixth-round pick is taking his first extended stab at the Midwest League and has performed well, putting together a .301/.361/.402 line in 82 games so far this season. Last week helped prop up those stats, as he extended his hitting streak to nine games with five multi-hit performances. He highlighted his week by homering and driving in three in a 15-5 win over Wisconsin on July 8. The Faulkner State (Alabama) product owns a .288 average with seven home runs in 155 Minor League games.

South Atlantic League
Javier Guerra, Greenville
(.520/.536/.880, 6 G, 13-for-25, 3 HR, 7 RBI, 6 R, 2 BB, 5 K, 1 CS)
The 19-year-old is having a standout season in his Class A debut and last week may have been his best yet. He pieced together a four-hit game at Asheville on July 8, homering and plating two runs in the process. Then he capped the week with two homers Sunday. The undersized shortstop now has 11 homers in 70 games this season. "He may be listed at 5-foot-11, 155, but he's much bigger than that," Drive manager Darren Fenster told MiLB.com. "He's got a fundamentally sound swing and he's got some strength there. And I'll tell you what: until he gets to two strikes, he's getting his money's worth with his swing. He's not taking defensive swings up there. Until he has to go into battle mode, he'll try to get all of it, and that's why you're seeing some pretty good power numbers."

New York-Penn League
Matt Dacey, Hudson Valley
(.500/.556/.938, 4 G, 8-for-16, 5 2B, 1 3B, 10 RBI, 4 R, 1 BB, 3 K)
The 2015 21st-round pick out of the University of Richmond went 0-for-2 in his professional debut July 9 but then went on a tear for the Renegades. In a three-game stretch from July 10-12, Dacey went 8-for-14 with six extra-base hits and 10 RBIs. The 21-year-old had his best game yet on Sunday, going 4-for-5 with two doubles, five RBIs and three runs scored. Dacey earned First-Team All-East Region and All-Atlantic 10 honors with the Spiders in 2015, slugging 17 homers and posting a .313 average.

Northwest League
Jose Vizcaino, Salem-Keizer
(.542/.607/.958, 6 G, 13-for-24, 2 2B, 1 3B, 2 HR, 5 RBI, 7 R, 4 BB, 1 K)
Vizcaino went to the Giants in the seventh round of this summer's Draft out of Santa Clara and is the son of the 18-year Major League veteran with the same name. The 21-year-old is off to a molten hot start with the Volcanoes, batting .373 with two homers and a 1.026 OPS through his first 16 games. He's been particularly good of late, collecting multiple hits in four of his past five games, including a trio of three-hit games. He also hit his first two pro homers in consecutive games on July 6 and 8.

Appalachian League
Hector Roa, Greeneville
(.407/.429/.852, 7 G, 11-for-27, 3 2B, 3 HR, 10 RBI, 3 R, 1 BB, 6 K)
A native of Washington D.C., Roa followed his father, Hector Sr., to the Dominican Republic as a teenager and signed with the Astros in 2012. Now 20 years old, Roa has become a Player of the Week with Rookie-level Greeneville after slugging his first three home runs of the season over a five-game span. The outfielder has been with Greeneville for nine games and has a .324/.361/.676 line in that time.

Pioneer League
David Denson, Helena
(.500/.563/1.286, 4 G, 7-for-14, 2 2B, 3 HR, 7 RBI, 5 R, 2 BB, 1 K, 1 CS)
After struggling in an early season look with Class A Wisconsin, Denson was demoted back to Rookie-level Helena, where he's been a world beater through his first 15 games. The 20-year-old is batting .327 with four homers and a 1.051 OPS so far, including a breakout last week that featured three of his four home runs in the Pioneer League. The 2013 15th-rounder also sprinkled in a pair of three-hit games and collected 10 total bases while homering twice on Sunday.
