Brett Doe promoted to Fort Myers; Yorman Landa and Chris Mazza activated from DL

Tyler Kuresa rejoins Kernels from Elizabethton

Cedar Rapids, IA - The Cedar Rapids Kernels and Minnesota Twins announce that C Brett Doe has been promoted to Fort Myers (FSL); RHP Yorman Landa and RHP Chris Mazza have been activated from the 7-day DL; and INF Tyler Kuresa has rejoined the Kernels from Elizabethton (APPY). Brad Steil, Director of Minor League Operations for the Twins, announced the move.

Doe played in 46 games for the Kernels, batting .285 with 3 HR and 19 RBI. He was signed by the Twins in the 38th round of the 2014 First Year Player Draft out of Baylor University.

Landa pitched in one game for the Kernels at Peoria on May 19th. He has made seven appearances during a rehab assignment with the GCL Twins, posting a 1-0 record, 0.00 ERA and one save. In 9 IP he allowed three hits and one run (unearned) with two walks and nine strikeouts.

The Twins selected Mazza in the 27th round of the 2011 First Year Player Draft out of Menlo (CA) Junior College. He made 25 relief appearances for the Kernels in 2014, posting a 4-4 record and 2.79 ERA. He has appeared in five games on a rehab assignment with the GCL Twins with no record and a 3.00 ERA, allowing two runs (all earned) on five hits, walking one and striking out five over 6 IP.

Kuresa started the season with the Kernels and was assigned to Extended Spring Training on May 29th. In 36 games, he was batting .194 with a HR and 11 RBI. He played in 17 games at Elizabethton, batting .241 (13-54) with 4 HR and 9 RBI.

Landa, Mazza and Kuresa are all active and available for tonight's 6:35 PM game with Burlington. With today's transactions, the Kernels roster is the Midwest League maximum of 25 active players, with 9 players currently on the DL.

The Kernels begin a three game series tonight with the Burlington Bees at 6:35 PM with the gates opening at 5:30 PM. The current home stand continues through Friday, July 17th.
