Two Homers Back Jemiola in 12-1 Win
Bakersfield, CA. - Ryan McMahon whacked two homers in the Modesto Nuts' 12-1 rout of the Bakersfield Blaze on Wednesday night at Sam Lynn Ballpark.
Ryan McMahon cracked his first homer in the third to put the Nuts (45-44; 12-7) up by four. In the fifth, McMahon whacked his second to make it a 7-1 game. He added a RBI in the sixth and dinished 3-for-5 with three RBI and three runs scored. Correlle Prime drove in three runs and Troy Stein reached in all five of his plate appearances with three walks, a double and a single.
Zach Jemiola (W, 4-2) dominated to earn his fourth straight win. The righty worked seven innings and allowed just a RBI groundout. Jemiola did not walk a batter and struck out five. Trent Daniel and Matt Carasiti each tossed a scoreless frame.
The Nuts jumped all over the Blaze (33-56; 8-11) starter Brett Ash (L, 4-6) scoring six runs in the first three innings. Ash worked five innings and allowed seven total runs.
Overall, the Blaze committed five errors leading to six runs.
