John Sternberg Wins FRITOS Brand Chili Cook-Off

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Congratulations to John Sternberg, the winner of the 2010 FRITOS® Brand Chili Cook-off on Friday, August 20. Sternberg's winning receipe, "Johnny's Back - 40 Chili, won top honors and earned him a $500 gift card from Meijer.

The other two finalists were Louisville Firemen Harold Schewe and Darlene Worthington of Louisville.

The finalists were selected from over 40 Chili recipes throughout the season at Louisville Slugger Field.

Sternberg, Schewe and Worthington came to the ballpark this past Friday and prepared their Chili Recipes prior to the game against Syracuse.

The recipes were then judged by a panel of five (5) judges: 1. Tony Vanetti of (Radio Sports Talk host of the "Afternoon Underdogs" on WKRD 790 AM) 2. Kent Taylor (Sports Director at WAVE TV 3) 3. Michael Grant (Sports Writer for the Louisville Courier-Journal Newspaper) 4. Chef Jim Darr (Head Chef for CenterPlate Concessions here at Slugger Field) 5. Darlene Nichols (Marketing and Advertising Representative from FRITOS)

After the judging was completed on Friday, fans got to enjoy samples of the three different Chili recipes, which obviously did not last very long.
