D-Jays, Marauders Suspended After Six Innings

Bradenton, FL - The Dunedin Blue Jays and the Bradenton Marauders played to a 1-1 tie after six innings at McKechnie Field on Friday night before the game was suspended due to rain. It will be made up tomorrow prior to the regularly scheduled contest.

Both teams scored their lone runs in the fourth inning. Matt Dean led off with a deep solo home run to left-center field, his team-leading 10th of the season. Bradenton responded in the bottom of the inning when Jeff Roy delivered an RBI sacrifice-fly with the bases loaded and one out.

The D-Jays left the bases loaded in the third inning and stranded four base runners total, while the Marauders left nine on base.

Dunedin starter Murphy Smith tossed five innings and scattered six hits. He walked two and struck out three. Brad Allen threw a scoreless inning out of the bullpen.

L.B. Dantzler led the D-Jays with two singles. Anthony Alford extended his on-base streak to 26 games with a single leading off the fifth inning.
