AUGUSTA, GA: The Augusta GreenJackets, Single "A" affiliate of the 2014 World Champion San Francisco Giants, are proud to announce that starting pitcher Sam Coonrod has been named the South Atlantic League Pitcher of the Week. This week's award reaches from the dates of July 20th through July 26th.

During Sam Coonrod's past week he started just one game against the Hickory Crawdads. In his longest outing of 2015 Coonrod pitched eight innings. He retired the first fourteen batters of the game. Twelve of those fourteen outs were recorded as ground ball outs. When Coonrod left the mound his stat sheet zero earned runs, three hits, and struck out six Crawdad batters.
