Third baseman goes five-for-five with a homer in 5-4 victory
July 29, 2015

FRISCO, TEXAS (July 28, 2015) - The Midland RockHounds jumped ahead early and held on late to defeat the Frisco RoughRiders, 5-4, and complete a three-game sweep on Wednesday night at Dr Pepper Ballpark. Ryon Healy knocked his seventh homer of the year in a five-for-five night at the plate.

Frisco's comeback bid fell just short. Trailing 5-2 with two outs in the bottom of the ninth, Trever Adams singled in Ryan Cordell before Zach Cone knocked in Adams to make it 5-4, but Midland retired the side with the tying run at second.

Midland started the contest with three straight singles. Colin Walsh crossed the plate on a RBI-single from Rangel Ravelo and Matt Olson singled in Healy and the Hounds led 2-0 in the first.

The RockHounds added two more runs in the second inning. Three straight two-out hits, including a two run-single from Healy gave Midland a four run advantage.

Frisco cut into the deficit in the third frame. Luis Marte scored Luis Mendez on a groundout and Nomar Mazara knocked in Nick Williams with a sacrifice fly make it a 4-2 ballgame.

In the seventh inning, Healy added to Midland's lead with a homer over the left field wall, which would eventually play as the winning run.

Chad Bell (3-11) dropped the decision for Frisco. He struck out nine but allowed four runs on eight hits in six innings. Jake Sanchez (8-7) earned his eighth win with Midland over six innings of work. The right-hander allowed two unearned runs on three hits and struck out six. Seth Frankoff allowed two runs in the ninth but picked up his sixth save of the season.

The RoughRiders begin a seven game road trip through San Antonio and Midland. RHP Victor Payano toes the rubber for Frisco on Thursday. The Missions send RHP Dennis O'Grady to the mound in the 7:05 p.m. start. The Riders return to Dr Pepper Ballpark on August 6.
