July 30, 2015

SPOKANE, Wash. -- The Indians' designated hitter Todd McDonald hit a game-tying, two-RBI double in the sixth inning, but the Eugene Emeralds snuck past Spokane by a score of 4-3 in front of 4,647 fans at Avista Stadium on $100 Strikeout Night presented by Banner Bank and KXLY-AM 920.

Down 3-1, McDonald stepped up to the plate to line a deep double to center field to bring Dylan Moore and Sherman Lacrus home. The Australian-born power-hitter had his first two-hit game as a Spokane Indian, also collecting a single earlier in the contest.

Cody Palmquist started on the bump for Spokane and scatted seven hits, three runs and struck out four. He exited the game with a tie score for Jason Richman, who allowed Eugene's game-deciding run to earn his third loss of the season. Adam Choplick struck out three in the ninth and lowered his ERA to 2.04.

Dean Long added an RBI single, Moore went 1-for-4 and Lacrus garned one hit and two walks.
