Toronto deals Norris, Boyd in Price trade

Blue Jays sent pair of Bisons' lefties to Detroit

The Toronto Blue Jays today traded Buffalo Bisons LHP DANIEL NORRIS and LHP MATT BOYD to the Detroit Tigers in a three-player package to acquire LHP David Price from the Tigers.

Boyd was due to start for the Bisons tonight in Syracuse. Norris next scheduled start for Buffalo was Saturday night at Coca-Cola Field.

Norris made 16 starts for the Bisons this season, going 3-10 with a 4.27 ERA and 78 strikeouts in 90.2 innings of work. He ranked 2nd on the Herd in starts, innings and strikeouts. Norris made six quality starts for Buffalo this season with the Herd scoring just 3.3 runs/game during his 16 outings.

Boyd made six starts with the Bisons in his Triple-A debut this year. The southpaw was 3-1 with a 2.77 ERA, having thrown seven or more innings in four of his six appearances with the Herd. Boyd struck out 37 and allowed just 32 hits in 39.0 innings with Buffalo.
