Stephen Strasburg to make second Syracuse start on Monday

Right-hander will make second Syracuse start of 2015
July 31, 2015

The Syracuse Chiefs are pleased to announce that Washington Nationals starting pitcher Stephen Strasburg will continue his Major-League rehab assignment with the Chiefs on Monday, August 3rd, against the Pawtucket Red Sox at 7:05 p.m. at NBT Bank Stadium. Strasburg is currently working his way back from the Nationals' Disabled List for the second time this season after suffering an oblique injury on July 4th. Strasburg made his first Syracuse appearance since 2011 on Wednesday night against Buffalo. He threw four innings, allowing four hits and three earned runs, while walking one and striking out five. Strasburg tossed 64 pitches, of which 44 were strikes. 2015 marks Strasburg's third year with the Chiefs. He started six games in 2010, posting a 1.08 ERA as the then-top-rated pitching prospect in the Nationals system. Strasburg also started one game in 2011 on a Major-League rehab assignment while recovering from Tommy John surgery. Tickets for Monday's game, a BlueRock Energy Social Media Monday, and all other Chiefs games are available online at syracusechiefs.com, by calling 474-7833, or in person at the stadium ticket office.
