Nick Petree Named FSL Pitcher of The Week

JUPITER, Fla. - The Florida State League has released its players of the week, and a Palm Beach Cardinal received one of those honors. Nick Petree, a right-handed pitcher from Clinton, MO, received the Pitcher of the Week honor after throwing a one hit gem against Brevard County on July 29. He pitched seven scoreless innings with no walks and five strikeouts.

Prior to being with Palm Beach, Petree started the year with Springfield, the AA affiliate for the St. Louis Cardinals. He made 10 appearances before being placed on the disabled list on May 31. He joined the Beach Birds on June 22 and has made seven appearances. With Palm Beach, he's collected a record of 3 - 2 with a 3.05 ERA.
