Suter promoted to AAA Colorado Springs, Drew Gagnon to Biloxi

MOBILE, AL - The Milwaukee Brewers have announced the following roster moves that affect the Shuckers roster prior to today's 7:05 pm contest against the Mobile BayBears at Hank Aaron Stadium. LHP Brent Suter has been transferred to Triple-A Colorado Springs from Biloxi and RHP Drew Gagnon was transferred to Biloxi from Triple-A Colorado Springs. (pronounced GAHN-yo)

Suter, 25, made 20 appearances (11 starts) for the Shuckers this season, posting a record of 5-3 with a 1.95 ERA (83.0 IP/18 ER), 64 strikeouts and 33 walks. Suter has recorded four quality starts. Since May 8, Suter ranks first among qualifying pitchers in Minor League Baseball with a 1.54 ERA (87.2 IP/15 ER), tallying a 7-2 record over 17 games (9 starts), holding the opposition to a .214 batting average. Suter was named Southern League Pitcher of the Week for the week of June 15-21.

As a reliever, Suter was 2-3 with a 2.24 ERA and 3-0 with a 1.19 ERA as a starter. 

The Cincinnati, OH native has a 26-25 career record, with a 3.35 ERA in 86 games (63 starts). Over two seasons at the Double-A level, Suter is 15-13 with 3.25 ERA in 48 games (38 starts). He was a Southern League midseason All-Star in 2014 as a member of the Huntsville Stars.

The left-hander was selected by the Milwaukee Brewers in the 31st round of the 2011 draft out of Harvard University.

Gagnon, 24, made 20 appearances (18 starts) for the SkySox this season, posting a record of 1-11 with a 6.93 ERA (89.2 IP/69 ER), 51 strikeouts and 52 walks.

Gagnon was a Southern League midseason All-Star in 2014 as a member of the Huntsville Stars and tied for the Southern League lead in starts (28) and ranked fifth in innings pitched, 154.2. Overall, the right-hander from Brentwood, CA was 11-6 with a 3.97, striking out 118 and walking 62, holding the opposition to a .239 batting average. Gagnon led Brewers minor leaguers in innings pitched and was named Southern League Pitcher of the Week for May 12-18.

Gagnon was selected by the Milwaukee Brewers in the third round (100th overall) of the 2011 draft out of Long Beach State.
