John Curtiss activated from 7-day DL
Cedar Rapids, IA - The Cedar Rapids Kernels and Minnesota Twins announce that RHP John Curtiss has been activated from the 7-day DL and LHP Cam Booser has been placed on the 7-day DL with a left shoulder impingement. Brad Steil, Director of Minor League Operations for the Twins, announced the move.
Curtiss went on the DL on May 26th with a right forearm strain suffered in the 5th inning of the Kernels game at Beloit on May 25th. He has made seven starts for the Kernels so far this season, posting a 2-3 record and 5.87 ERA. In 37 IP, he's allowed 50 hits and 26 runs (24 earned) with seven walks and 36 strikeouts.
Booser has made 32 relief appearances for the Kernels, posting a 1-2 record, 3.72 ERA and notching 10 saves in 13 opportunities. In 46 IP, he allowed 31 hits and 23 runs (19 earned) with 40 walks and 69 strikeouts.
Curtiss is active and available for tonight's 6:35 PM home game against the Dayton Dragons. With today's transactions, the Kernels roster remains at 24 active players, one below the Midwest League maximum of 25, with 10 players currently on the DL.
The Kernels continue a six game home stand at 6:35 PM against the Dayton Dragons, the Midwest League affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds. Gates open at 5:30 PM. The upcoming home stand continues through Sunday, August 9th.
