Charlotte Knights Honor Local DeVry University "Student of the Month"

August 7, 2015

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- This season, Minor League Baseball (MiLB) named DeVry University as the "Official Education and Career Development Partner of Minor League Baseball." This summer, MiLB and DeVry University are recognizing outstanding undergraduate and graduate students from the university who demonstrate citizenship, personal and academic leadership, and dedication to their fields of study as the "Student of the Month."

Daniel Craycroft from the DeVry University campus in Charlotte, North Carolina, is one of 25 students nationwide to receive this honor. Craycroft will be honored Saturday, Aug. 8, at the game against the Rochester Red Wings.

Craycroft is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in computer information systems at the university's College of Engineering & Information Sciences. According to the campus dean, "Daniel displays outstanding leadership skills, and tireless efforts. Daniel is a part of the Navy Reserve as a First Class Petty Officer, works as a federal work study employee and is a loving husband and devoted father to three beautiful children. With a full class load, family obligations and work, Daniel embodies a caring and devoted spirit within all the different roles in his life. In fact, Daniel is known for his expert knowledge and ability to think critically and provide solutions for not only our IT team, but the Navy Reserve, junior sailors and others."

"We are honored to help DeVry University celebrate some of its best and brightest students," said Scott Brown, General Manager, Baseball Operations of the Charlotte Knights. "As a community partner, we welcome the opportunity to provide Daniel with a special ballpark experience and recognize him for his accomplishments."
