Miracle drop second game of series, 4-1
PALM BEACH, Fla. (August 8, 2015) - The Fort Myers Miracle fall in the second game of the three-game series against the Palm Beach Cardinals at Roger Dean Stadium on Saturday night.
The Cardinals opened up scoring in the bottom of the fourth, which would be the only tallies of the game for Palm Beach. Danny Diekroeger tripled, scoring Collin Radack and Luke Voit. A Fort Myers error led to Palm Beach's third run. The fourth run of the inning came on a Blake Drake single, who drove in Carson Kelly. 4-0 Cardinals.
Fort Myers cut the lead by one in the top of the seventh inning on a Logan Wade RBI ground out. Wade drove in Mitch Garver. 4-1 Cardinals would be the final score.
Daniel Poncedeleon (5-0) would take the win with six shutout innings, only allowing two hits and striking out six. Omar Bencomo (0-1) was the losing pitcher, throwing five innings allowing four runs, two earned.
The Miracle (61-52, 23-20) and Cardinals (60-51, 28-13) will play the rubber match of the series at Roger Dean Stadium on Sunday at 1:05 p.m. For more information, visit www.miraclebaseball.com
