JAXX BEAT BRAVES, WIN SERIES
Munoz (7-6) struck out two and walked one in the victory. Munoz tossed a season high 99 pitches during the 6.2 innings. He allowed two runs on six hits on the night. Nick Hill and Mumba Rivera provided scoreless relief to secure the win. Rivera earned his third straight save for the Jaxx. Jacob Thompson (8-10) suffered the loss for the Braves.
Matt Lawson was 3-for-4 with a run scored to lead the Jaxx on offense. Carlos Peguero and Leury Bonilla added two hits each in the winning effort. Eric Duncan and Mauro Gomez had two hits for the M-Braves on Thursday night.
Mycal Jones hit a grand slam Wednesday and followed it on Thursday night with a solo homer in the top of the first inning. The Braves jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first.
The Jaxx tied the game in the bottom of the fourth inning on a sacrifice fly from Guillermo Quiroz that scored Alex Liddi. The score was even at 1-1.
Nate Tenbrink brought in Carlos Triunfel with a sacrifice fly to left in the bottom of the fifth inning to give the Jaxx their first lead at 2-1.
The Jaxx added another run in the bottom of the sixth inning. Scott Savastano doubled in Leury Bonilla to extend the lead to 3-1.
The M-Braves narrowed the deficit to 3-2 in the top of the seventh. West Tenn scored in their fourth straight inning during the bottom of the seventh on an error by Braves' shortstop Mycal Jones. The Jaxx went up and won 4-2.
The Diamond Jaxx will host the Chattanooga Lookouts at Pringles Park on Friday night to begin the final series of the regular season. RHP Steve Bray (7-11, 5.23) makes the 7:05 start for the Diamond Jaxx against Chattanooga's LHP Alberto Bastardo (7-4, 4.54). Friday night is Girls Night Out, presented by Mam'selle and Autograph and Photo Day, presented by Mam'selle.
