The Soup Nazi to Headline Seinfeld Night

Culinary Legend to Meet Fans and Sign Autographs
August 10, 2015

FREDERICK, Md. -On Saturday, August 15, the infamous "Soup Nazi" will make an appearance at Nymeo Field as part of "Seinfeld Night". First pitch is scheduled for 6:00 p.m and gates open at five, while the culinary legend will be on hand to meet fans and sign autographs. There will also be plenty of fun on-field games and twists throughout the night, as the Keys celebrate television's greatest show about nothing.

Fans can get involved with the night through a host of fun on-field games. Those who go too heavy on the sausage, will be called on for the Izzy Mandelbaum fitness challenge. Others will be asked to channel their best spastic dance moves in an Elaine Benes dance contest, while there will be a cone race between Keyote and one fan, with the Keys mascot receiving a head start.

Several individuals will be called on to utter the famous Woody Allen line "these pretzels are making me thirsty!" and a special edition of "this or that" will ask a contestant to identify "pick or no pick." Couples can take part in "Schmoopy Cam" while fans can relive some of their Seinfeld memories with "Yada Yada" trivia. Any individual who is an Andrea Doria will receive a free ticket to the game and one fan will win a car wash for owning the smelliest car in the parking lot.

At the concession stands, fans can enjoy some of the soup master's signature creations. Those who visit the concession stands can try out crab bisque and mulligatawny soups. Signs will be posted to alert fans to the proper ordering procedure.

The role of Yev Kassem, aka the Soup Nazi, is played by Emmy Award-nominated actor Larry Thomas. Best known for his role in Seinfeld, Thomas has also appeared in movies such as Austin Powers International Man of Mystery and guest starred on television shows such as CSI, Scrubs and General Hospital. Thomas has also authored the book Confessions of a Soup Nazi an autobiography and cookbook which talks about getting his big break and lists some of his favorite recipes.

Ranked by TV Guide as the greatest television program of all time in 2002 and 2013, Seinfeld ran for nine seasons on NBC from July 1989-May 1998. Winner of 10 Emmy awards and three Golden Globes among other accolades, Seinfeld ranked among the top three television shows in the Nielsen ratings in each of its last five seasons.
