Johnson Will Sign Autographs and Meet and Greet with Fans
August 11, 2015

Former Washington Capitals goaltender Brent Johnson, a fifth round draft pick in 1995 by the Colorado Avalanche, will be making an appearance at Pfitzner Stadium on Friday, August 14th, presented by Lindsay Automotive. Johnson will sign autographs and meet and greet with fans.

Johnson spent 16 seasons in the NHL, including four with the Washington Capitals. The grandson of NHL Hall of Famer Sid Abel and son of former NHL goal tender Bob Johnson, he spent 2005-2009 with the Capitals.

Johnson, a 6'3", 199-pound left handed goalie was famously on the ice on February 4th, 2006 when the Caps took on the Tampa Bay Lightning, who had Jon Grahame in goal. Grahame is the son of former NHL goalie Ron Grahame. That contest marked the first time in NHL history that two second generation goalies squared off against each other.

The Farmington, MI, native played in 309 games, finishing 140-112-31. He gave up 744 goals in 1,698 total minutes on the ice, good for a 2.63 goals against average and a .904 save percentage. Johnson's best season in a Capitals uniform in 2008-2009 when he played in 16 games and recorded a 10-4-2 mark in 902 minutes, allowing 37 goals for a 2.46 goals against average and a .908 save percentage.

Gates will open at 6pm, with first pitch at 7:05pm. As part of Youth Hockey Night, the Washington Captials' mascot Slapshot and dance team, the Red Rockers, will also be in attendance.
