Blue Jays sign OF Chris Heisey
The Toronto Blue Jays today announced that they have signed OF CHRIS HEISEY to a minor league contract. Heisey has been activated by the Buffalo Bisons.
HEISEY, 30, is a veteran of 560 Major League games, spending five seasons with the Cincinnati Reds, 2010-2014 and playing 17 games this season with the Los Angeles Dodgers. The right-hand hitting outfielder has a career .246 average in the big leagues with 62 doubles, 10 triples, 50 home runs and 147 RBI. He hit 18 home runs for the Reds in 2011 when he played 120 games and batted .254 for Cincinnati.
Heisey spent most of 2015 at Triple-A Oklahoma City where he hit .236 (49-208) with 14 home runs and 37 RBI in 63 games for the Dodgers' Pacific Coast League club. He was released from Los Angeles last week.
