Angels Outfielder Matt Joyce Joins Salt Lake
SALT LAKE CITY (Aug. 16, 2015) - Los Angeles Angels outfielder Matt Joyce will begin a Major League rehabilitation assignment with the Salt Lake Bees on Sunday afternoon. Joyce is scheduled to start in left field and hit third in the lineup for the Bees against the Omaha Storm Chasers.
Joyce appeared in 86 games with the Angels this season before being placed on the disabled list after suffering a concussion on July 26. Joyce was a 2011 American League All-Star with the Tampa Bay Rays and was acquired by the Angels in a trade for reliever Kevin Jepsen in December. Joyce joins fellow Halos outfielder Collin Cowgill who began a rehab assignment with Salt Lake on Saturday night.
The Bees homestand continues through Saturday, Aug. 22 with games against the Storm Chasers and Iowa Cubs.
