Alcantara returns to Iowa, Davis reassigned
LAS VEGAS - The Chicago Cubs today made a series of transactions affecting Iowa's active roster for tonight's game at Las Vegas. Infielder/outfielder Arismendy Alcantara was activated from the inactive list, and catcher Taylor Davis had been reassigned to Double-A Tennessee.
Alcantara, 23, was placed on the inactive list Aug. 13. He rejoins the club hitting .233 (90-for-387) with 12 home runs, 17 doubles and 30 RBI in 100 games for Iowa this season.
Davis, 25, is batting .282 (59-for-209) with four home runs, 14 doubles and 21 RBI in 71 games over two stints with Iowa this season.
Additionally, outfielder Anthony Giansanti was activated from the 7-Day disabled list (hamstring) and transferred to Double-A Tennessee prior to last night's game. Giansanti, 26, appeared in five games for Iowa and went 3-for-17 with two doubles and two RBI. He joined the team July 7, but was placed on the disabled list July 16 with a sore hamstring.
With these moves, Iowa's active roster is full at 25 players plus one player on the disabled list and one player on the inactive list.
