Infielder Austin Fisher Promoted to Akron RubberDucks

August 20, 2015

Infielder Austin Fisher has been promoted to the Double A Akron RubberDucks.
The Cleveland Indians drafted Fisher in the 13th round of the 2014 MLB Draft out of Kansas State University. The 22-year-old brings spark to the lineup primarily as a middle infielder, but was the only member of the Scrappers this season to play all four infield positions, except for pitcher and catcher.
Fisher spent the 2014 season in Mahoning Valley. He hit .196 in 46 games as the team's starting shortstop. In 36 games with the Scrappers this season, Fisher hit .218 with 11 RBI's.
The promotion came after Mahoning Valley's 7-6 walk-off win against Batavia on Wednesday night. The Scrappers also received RHP Erick Algarin from the AZL Indians.
