DYSON BECOMES 105TH FORMER BLUE ROCK IN MAJORS
Dyson pinch hit for Alex Gordon in the ninth inning of the Royals' 10-3 loss to the Minnesota Twins. The outfielder walked and scored a run.
Dyson first appeared in a Blue Rocks uniform during the 2008 campaign. That year he batted .260 with 24 RBIs and eight doubles. He also stole 39 bases and scored 40 runs in 93 games with Wilmington.
The McComb, MS native returned to the Rocks in July of 2010 as he was working his way back from a hip injury he suffered during spring training. Dyson feasted on Carolina League pitching, batting .327 with eight extra-base hits, nine RBIs, five steals and seven runs scored in just 12 games.
He went to Double-A for less than a week after leaving Wilmington and then spent the next two months at Triple-A Omaha. With the O-Royals, Dyson hit .272 with 19 RBIs and 13 stolen bases in 46 games.
The 26-year-old was added to the Royals roster after Omaha's season came to a close on Labor Day.
