River Cats, Giants Announce Exhibition Game at Raley Field

Triple-A Team to Host Major League Affiliate March 2016

WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif. - The Sacramento River Cats and San Francisco Giants are excited to announce the first ever Exhibition Game between the River Cats and Giants. The game is tentatively scheduled for late March 2016 and will take place on the shores of the Sacramento River at Raley Field.  

"We are thrilled to play an exhibition game with the River Cats at Raley Field in 2016," stated Giants President & CEO Larry Baer. "We value our partnership with the River Cats and our shared fanbase in the Sacramento area. This will be a great opportunity to thank our loyal fans for their passion and support for both of our organizations."

While an official date has yet to be set, the Exhibition Game between the Giants and the River Cats is tentatively scheduled for late March.

"We're looking at a few dates toward the end of March, but right now the priority is supporting the Giants in their push for the 2015 postseason," explained River Cats General Manager Chip Maxson. "We're excited about the Giants making their first trip to Raley Field and will be moving forward with more details during the upcoming offseason."

The Exhibition Game will allow local fans an opportunity to see not just their favorite River Cats, but also current members of the three-time World Champion San Francisco Giants. Three-time All-Stars Buster Posey and Hunter Pence, World Series MVP Madison Bumgarner, and middle-infield sensations Brandon Crawford and Joe Panik are all expected to participate.

"It's such a treat for Sacramento area fans to get this unprecedented access to their favorite Giants and River Cats players in the intimate setting of Raley Field," said River Cats' Director of Marketing Erin O'Donnell. "We're very eager to share that with our fans."

Currently, the only way fans are able to guarantee tickets for the Exhibition Game is to become a River Cats Season Ticket Member or to renew a current membership.
