Eastern League Sets New Attendance Mark
"I am extremely proud of all of our member clubs for breaking the Eastern League total attendance record this season," said Eastern League President Joseph McEacharn. "Breaking this record shows our clubs are doing as good a job as ever in providing our fans with the affordable, family entertainment they know can be found at all of our ballparks."
Leading the way in attendance in the Eastern League this season were the Richmond Flying Squirrels, who drew a league-best total of 463,842 fans. The Flying Squirrels were also tops in the league in average attendance, with 6,626 fans per game passing through the turnstiles at The Diamond this season.
Some other attendance highlights around the league this season included the Harrisburg Senators and New Britain Rock Cats setting new single-season attendance records. Additionally the Trenton Thunder welcomed the 7-millionth fan in franchise history, the Altoona Curve their 4-millionth fan and the New Hampshire Fisher Cats their 2-millionth fan during the 2010 season.
