RiverDogs End the '15 Regular Season with Five Days of Exciting Promotions

Faith Night & Fan Appreciation Night highlight season's final homestand

CHARLESTON, S.C. -- Following a four-game road trip to Hickory during the week, the Charleston RiverDogs happily return to Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park. The Asheville Tourists (Rockies affiliate) visit the Lowcountry to end the 2015 RiverDogs home schedule with a five-game series. Asheville will be making their third visit to The Joe this season.

Saturday, August 29, 6:05 pm: Saturday is Cancer Survivor Appreciation Night, presented by MUSC Health. The RiverDogs will be meeting with many of the strong survivors from the Hollings Cancer Center and learn of all the incredible cancer research occurring in our community. Saturday is College of Charleston Night at The Joe. The RiverDogs help kick off the new school year and welcome incoming freshmen to the Lowcountry. College of Charleston basketball head coach Earl Grant will be throwing out the first pitch to baseball head coach Matt Heath. The Cougars cheerleading and dance squads will be entertaining fans throughout the game as well. In addition, the RiverDogs will also be celebrating North Charleston Night on Monday. Ever dream of rounding third base and heading for home? Saturday night is the final chance to make that dream come true! Kids are able to run around the diamond on this last Saturday home game of the season, with the Postgame Kids Run the Bases program presented by CPI Security Systems. 

Sunday, August 30, 5:05 pm: Come to the ballpark as the RiverDogs celebrate Faith Night. Gates open half an hour earlier than usual at 3:30 p.m., and there will be a presentation from Charleston Southern baseball player Chris Singleton on "The Power of Faith" starting at 3:45. The entire Charleston Southern baseball team will be in attendance as well. During the game, the RiverDogs will auction off their "Seersucker Sunday" jerseys with proceeds to benefit the Singleton Memorial Fund. The Gildan Mobile Tour will be making a trip to The Joe on Sunday. Gildan will have a table set up near the main entrance with plenty of fun games to play and free giveaways to take home. This is the final Charleston County Parks and Recreation Commission Kids Club Sunday of the season, presented by Y102.5. Parking is free and kids 12-and-under eat free courtesy of Pepsi. They will receive a coupon for a hot dog, fountain drink and chips. All members of the RiverDogs Kids Club receive free admission to every Family Sunday Game. The RiverDogs Kids Club, known as the RiverPups, is free to join and open to all kids 12-and-under. Stick around after the game for free autographs from the entire RiverDogs team for the final time in 2015.

Monday, August 31, 7:05 pm: Every Monday at The Joe is Coors Monday Night Baseball, presented by Kickin' 92.5. Visit the Ashley View Pub for $1 hot dogs and $1 draft beers as the RiverDogs again spoof Monday Night Football. For this week's Monday Night Baseball, the Sertoma Cheerleaders will be in attendance. The squads will be introduced and run onto the field through the inflatable Charlie T. RiverDog head just like the players. They will perform a RiverDogs cheer on the field and then line up along the outfield grass to give the RiverDogs team high-fives as they enter the park. Our "Dogs with a Cause" this week features the Charleston & Dorchester Mental Health Center, one of the largest and most innovative centers operated by the South Carolina Department of Mental Health. The health center joins forces with some incredible organizations in an effort to improve access to community resources and to ensure the very best mental health treatment possible. Sergeant Patrick McLaughlin and Officer Terry Ann Ferguson will be honored in a pregame ceremony. Representative Leon Stavrinakis will be presenting Resolutions to Sergeant McLaughlin and Officer Ferguson, and Chief Gregory Mullen will give remarks about the officers' heroic actions saving the lives of two individuals in the community. 

Tuesday, September 1, 7:05 pm: Tuesday is Citadel Cadet Night at The Joe, as we welcome our neighbors from the South Carolina Corps of Cadets. Come early to see the Regimental Commander throw the ceremonial first pitch, the Cadet Chorale perform our National Anthem, and a special performance from the famed Summerall Guards. Whether it is your first date or you have been together for decades, bring your special someone to the final Miller Lite Tuesday Date Night of the '15 season, presented by NASH FM. Single and ready to mingle? This Tuesday Date Night is a special "Tinder Tuesday." We have the opportunity for you to find your special someone at the ballpark. On the main concourse, we will have our Miller Lite "Bro Zone" set where bros can grab a beer, relax, play some cornhole and enjoy the game. For this Tuesday home game, any duo of fans will receive a special 2-for-$20 deal at the box office. The promotion includes two game tickets, two tacos, two fountain drinks and one tray of nachos all for $20. Whether you have a significant other or just want to hang out with a friend, come to The Joe and enjoy Tuesday's spectacular promotion.

Wednesday, September 2, 6:35 pm: Wednesday is the final RiverDogs home game of the '15 season, and we will be having a special 'Thirsty Wednesday' to celebrate with $1 beers in the Ashley View Pub presented by Budweiser. The RiverDogs will be honoring the best fans in the South Atlantic League throughout the game on Fan Appreciation Night, and parking will be free for everyone attending Wednesday's game. This huge celebration is sure to be a BLAST with our last postgame fireworks show over the scenic Ashley River. The RiverDogs home jerseys will also be auctioned off during the game, with proceeds to benefit the Singleton Memorial Fund. In addition to Fan Appreciation Night, it will also be Employee Appreciation Night as two lucky gameday employees will be selected to win a $500 grand prize for their excellent work throughout the season. As we take the game's final home game to appreciate our fans, we will also appreciate our hearts, as MUSC Health presents Heart Appreciation Night. Get free blood pressure screenings on the concourse and learn about what you can do to treat your heart correctly as we head into the offseason. Every Wednesday home game at The Joe is a HealthSouth Senior Wednesday, presented by MeTV. Seniors who enter the park before 6:30 p.m. receive a food voucher for a complimentary hot dog, 16-ounce fountain drink and bag of chips. It is also Hump Day presented by Magic 107.3. 

The five-game series against Asheville will also be broadcast live on "The Big Talker" 1250 WTMA, the radio home for RiverDogs baseball, and televised live on MiLB.tv.
