August 28, 2015

President of Rich Baseball Operations Jonathan Dandes joined Buffalo Mayor Byron W. Brown to sign the Mayors' 'Opportunity Pledge' during pre-game ceremonies before the Bisons game against the Pawtucket Red Sox on Friday night.

In doing so, the Buffalo Bisons showed their support to Mayor Brown's goal of building a stronger, more prosperous Buffalo through greater inclusion in the workforce.

Diversity is an inclusive concept, which encompasses race, color, ethnicity, gender, disability, sexual orientation and identity, religion, nationality and socioeconomic status. Mayor Brown and the Bisons believe that diverse, inclusive communities are vibrant, interesting, economically competitive and sustainable. Furthermore, the understanding, respecting, celebrating and embracing our differences create a stronger, more economically advanced community.

The 'Opportunity Pledge,' which is available for everyone working and living in the City of Buffalo to sign, recognizes that, by working together, we will increase workforce participation, increase wealth for all residents and build a thriving and inclusive city with opportunity for all.
