August 31, 2015

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn.-The Johnson City Cardinals lost tough Game 2 to the East Division Champion Pualski Yankees tonight.

The Yankees handed the Cardinals their fifth consecutive loss in a 10-0 defeat. This was the fifth shutout lost season of the year.

Yankees SP Simon De La Rosa (5 IP, 2 H, 4 BB, 6 SO) faced 21 batters tonight, tossing a no hitter through three innings. The Cardinals could only muster six hits in tonight's loss, which was dominated from start to finish by the Yankees pitching staff. The Yankees used three pitchers tonight, tallying 12 SO.

The Cardinals did have a few highlights in spite of the shutout loss. Anthony Ray (2-4) and Chris Chinea (2-4, 2B, 2 SO) both tallied multi-hit games. The former LSU Tiger is batting .320 over the last 10 games, with two homeruns and six RBI.
