Mark Reyes Named 2015 SAL LHP All-Star
AUGUSTA, GA: The Augusta GreenJackets single "A" affiliate of the 2014 World Series Champion San Francisco Giants have the pleasure in announcing that pitcher Mark Reyes has been named the left handed pitcher for the 2015 South Atlantic League All-Star Team.
Mark Reyes pitched his way to this exclusive South Atlantic League spot. He is the only member of the Augusta GreenJackets to earn All-Star recognition for the entire 2015 season. As of September 1st Reyes has an overall record of eight and six, an ERA of 2.15, and 86 strikeouts in his 22 starts in his 2015 campaign. Opponents are batting just .225 against Reyes which lands him fourth overall in the SAL. Reyes 2.15 ERA is only second to West Virginia's Yeudy Garcia in ERA Garcia holds an ERA of 2.11.
The 2014 22nd round draft pick by the Giants from Hot Springs Village, AR proved to be a work horse all season for the GreenJackets. Reyes went at least five innings in twenty-one of his twenty-two starts. He leads the GreenJackets in pitching categories such as games won (eight), started (22), ERA (2.15 amongst starting pitchers), and innings pitched (133.2). There is no doubt that Reyes has been at the top of the rotation and the go to guy for Nestor Rojas in 2015.
