Casper Rockies release 2007 schedule

Season opens on June 19 at Mike Lansing Field

CASPER, Wyo. -- The Casper Rockies Professional Baseball Club has released its 2007 schedule. The Colorado Rockies Pioneer League affiliate will open its seventh season at home on Tues., June 19 at Mike Lansing Field, as they welcome the Idaho Falls Chukars to town for a three-game series. Following that, the Rockies will then head to Ogden, Utah then Idaho Falls for their first road trip of the season.

"We are excited about this season's schedule," Seth Mathews, Casper Rockies director of operations said. "We open the season at home and end the season at home, as well. We are also looking forward to our Fourth of July celebration at Lansing Field on the third. With this outstanding schedule, Rockies fans from across all of Wyoming will have a great opportunity to come see their team play this season."

The Rockies will return home on June 28 to host the Ogden Raptors, who'll be followed in by the 2005 Pioneer League Champion Orem Owlz. The homestand will conclude on July 3, with many festivities planned for the Fourth of July holiday. Rockies fans will have a terrific opportunity to see great baseball, as well as to enjoy many exciting nights in the fun and family-oriented family atmosphere of Mike Lansing Field.

The 76-game Pioneer League schedule is divided into two halves, with each half's champion meeting in the first round of the playoffs, leading into the league championship. The Rockies will play home-and-away series against the 2006 Pioneer League Champion Missoula Osprey and the Helena Brewers in the season's first half, while they will see the Billings Mustangs and Great Falls White Sox in the second half.

The Rockies regular season will wrap up at home with a six-game stand beginning Sun., Sept. 2, as they play three games against the Raptors before finishing up with three vs the Chukars.
