Spinners owner Joann Weber passes away
She is survived by her husband, Drew Weber, her son, Michael Weber, and her daughter, Kate Weber.
Memorial services for the beloved Spinners owner are scheduled for 11 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 3, at Riverside Chapel, 331 Amsterdam Avenue, in Manhattan, New York.
Along with her husband, Weber became owner of the Lowell Spinners in 1997. Since then she had a constant presence with the club overseeing the merchandising department. Spinners fans will always remember Weber with the smile she greeted fans every night on the concourse and when she would stand at the exit to say good night to every fan as they left the game until there were no more fans in the park.
"Joann loved the Spinners and loved every fan of the Spinners," said Lowell Spinners General Manager Tim Bawmann "You always knew when the Spinners were home because she could not wait for the gates to open, head to the concourse and greet fans with a smile. She loved to carry a camera snapping thousands of pictures creating lasting memories for all fans. That's how she wants fans to remember her."
The Weber family has asked that in lieu of cards and flowers that donations be sent to the Lustgarten Foundation (Pancreatic Cancer research) or a charity of your choice in Joann Weber's name.
The Lustgarten Foundation can be contacted through their website (lustgartenfoundation.org) or by calling 1-866-789-1000.
