Buddy Bailey to manage Iowa in 2007
Replaces Mike Quade after four years with Iowa
The Chicago Cubs have named Buddy Bailey manager of the Iowa Cubs for the 2007 season. Bailey replaces Mike Quade, who was named the Chicago Cubs' third base coach after four years as Iowa's skipper. Bailey has seven years of experience managing at the triple-A level in the Boston Red Sox organization (1992-96 and 2002-04) with Pawtucket. He also logged one season in the big leagues with the Red Sox as a bench coach in 2000. In addition to his 14 years in the Red Sox organization, Bailey also spent nine years in the Atlanta Braves organization. In 2006, Bailey served as the Cubs' minor league catching and baserunning coordinator. Bailey played professionally for three years in the Braves organization and is a graduate of Lynchburg College.
