Legg takes helm for the Crosscutters

The Philadelphia Phillies have named Greg Legg as the manager for the 2007 Williamsport Crosscutters.

Legg, who resides in Peckville, PA, has been in the Phils organization since being drafted by the club in 1982. He played briefly for the Phillies in 1986 and 1987 appearing in a total of 14 games and boasting a career average in the Majors of .405 (9-for-22).

He began his coaching career with Clearwater (Class A Advanced) in 1994 and has managed since 1997 including two years in the New York-Penn League with the Batavia MuckDogs (1997 and 1999). He spent the previous two seasons as manager of the Clearwater Threshers (Class A Advanced).

Joining Legg on the coaching staff will be Hitting Coach Ken Dominguez and Pitching Coach Bill Bliss. Dominguez will begin his third season with the Phillies organization. Dominguez has coached or managed at the amateur or Minor League level every year since 1977. Bliss pitched professionally for seven season in the Cubs (1991-94) and Rockies (1995-1997) organizations. He served as the Batavia (Class A Short-Season) pitching coach in 2006.

· Gulf Coast (Rookie): Roly deArmas (Manager), Luis Melendez (Hitting Coach), Carlos Arroyo (Pitching Coach)
