Holman to coach in Fall League, Bodenhamer wins Trainer of Year

HICKORY, NC - The Hickory Crawdads have announced that Pitching Coach Brad Holman was named by the Texas Rangers as the pitching coach for the Surprise Rafters in the prestigious Arizona Fall League. Additionally, Athletic Trainer Jeff Bodenhamer was selected as the 2010 SAL Athletic Trainer of the Year by his peers in the Professional Baseball Athletic Trainers Society (PBATS).

Holman completed his second season with the Texas organization and second as the pitching coach for the Crawdads this year. He joined Manager Bill Richardson at the helm of the 2010 Northern Division All-Star Team. Holman will combine with Manager Mike Guerrero from the Milwaukee Brewers organization and Hitting Coach Derrick May from the St. Louis Cardinals organization to lead the Rafters. The Arizona Fall League is regarded throughout professional baseball as the "finishing school" for Major League Baseball's top prospects.

Bodenhamer just finished his sixth season in the Texas system and second with the Crawdads, and was also selected as the Northern Division Athletic Trainer for the 2010 SAL All-Star Game. Prior to joining the 'Dads, he served in the same role for Single-A Bakersfield in 2008 after three seasons with Single-A Clinton from 2005-07. The High Point, NC native graduated from Greensboro College and resides in Newberry, SC.
