Hamilton Returns To Pensacola
PENSACOLA, Fla., - The Cincinnati Reds have announced that Pensacola Blue Wahoos legend Billy Hamilton will begin a three-day rehabilitation assignment at Pensacola Bayfront Stadium beginning Saturday night against the Mobile BayBears.
· Billy Hamilton, OF, assigned from Cincinnati for a three-day rehabilitation assignment
Hamilton, who was placed on the 15-day disabled list on August 19 with a right shoulder injury, played only half a season with the Blue Wahoos in 2012, but etched his name in the record books when he became the Minor League's all-time single-season stolen base leader with 155 stolen bases.
Before Friday night's game against the Brewers, Hamilton took batting practice at the Great American Ball Park, which was the first time since he injured his shoulder. He was hitting .226 with a Major League-leading 54 steals in 107 games.
The Blue Wahoos are in a chase for the BC-Southern League Championship Series and are down to the final three regular season games of the season. Hamilton is expected to play in all three remaining games.
