Vancouver "Sox" Everett With 12-5 Victory
Canadians offense bounces back from one-hit performance with 15 hit outburst
(Scotiabank Field at Nat Bailey Stadium - Vancouver, B.C.) - Everett opened with three runs in the top of the 1stinning, which was just the beginning of a scoring frenzy as Vancouver would storm back with 12 of the final 14 runs on Friday night as every Canadians hitter scored at least once in a 12-5 victory over the division leading AquaSox.
Vancouver starter RHP Francisco Rios allowed three runs right out of the shoot as on a walk and pair of base hits as Everett took advantage of an error (Sean Hurley) and wild pitch to plant the seed of doubt in the Canadians who lost 2-1 a night earlier in Tri-City mustering up just one hit in the loss.
The Canadians however battled back second later plating three runs in the bottom of the 1st inning as Aquasox starter Lane Ratliff allowed three hits and a walk with Juan Kelly hitting a single, scoring Sean Hurley (walk) to even the game at 3-3.
From there, Vancouver's offense would roll, scoring nine of the game's next 11 runs with included Andrew Guillotte's 3rd home run of the season in the bottom of the 2nd inning to give Vancouver its first lead of the night.
Canadians 2B Ryan Metzler continued his assault on Northwest League pitching going 4-for-5 on Friday night to raise his season average to .293 while 1B Juan Kelly was 3-for-5 with a double.
On the mound, Francisco Rios improved to 3-6 on the season after going five innings, allowing eight hits and four earned runs while striking out seven.
The win improves Vancouver to 16-20 on the second half while Everett falls to 20-16 with two regular season games remaining.
