September 17, 2015

GRAND CHUTE, WI - The Midwest League has nominated the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers for the 2015 Larry MacPhail Award. The Midwest League selected the Timber Rattlers in a vote of league executives from nominations that were made prior to the end of the season.

The Larry MacPhail Award is presented to the team that demonstrated outstanding and creative marketing and promotional efforts within its community, its ballpark (including non-game day events), and in media and promotional materials.  By winning the nomination as the Midwest League's representative, Wisconsin is up for the National Larry MacPhail Promotional Trophy.  The Rattlers are competing with nominees from other minor leagues and the national winner will be named at Baseball's Winter Meetings in Nashville, Tennessee.

"We are honored to be the Midwest League nomination for Minor League Baseball's Larry MacPhail Promotional Award, especially given the strength of our league and all of the creative ideas that come out of it," said Timber Rattlers president Rob Zerjav. "I am really proud of our staff and the focus that was placed on making attending a Timber Rattlers game the most entertaining experience possible, whether we win or lose on the field."

The Timber Rattlers won the national Larry MacPhail Award at the 2012 Winter Meetings.
