Three-peat for Hooks' clubbies

Visiting clubhouse and umpires locker room recognized
September 22, 2015

CORPUS CHRISTI - For third straight year the Hooks visiting clubhouse earned the Texas League's top honors, while the umpires' locker room won for the sixth year in a row. League managers and officials vote on the awards, which are announced following the regular season. In 11 years of Hooks baseball, it marked the fifth time the opponents' locker room has won the prize and the seventh time the umpires' room has been recognized.

Brad Starr has been the Hooks home clubhouse manager for nine of the last 10 years and he also oversees the visitor's clubhouse and the umpire's locker room.

"The bat boys and the clubhouse assistants are huge in helping to make sure everything gets done before and after each game. Hooks management is always in my corner and ensures I'm never lacking for the resources I need to do the best job possible," Starr said.

Visiting clubhouse manager Justin Harrington completed his first season with the Hooks in 2015 after coming over from the same role with the Midland RockHounds.

"Since I've worked in the Texas League before, I had a good idea as far as what to expect this year," Harrington said. "But the support that I got from the front office (in Corpus Christi) was outstanding."

"We strive to take care of the visiting team and even the umpires with the same attention to detail that we give the Hooks," general manager Michael Wood said. "Brad has been exemplary in his role for a long time now and Justin proved to be an extension of that same conscientious work ethic on the visiting side this year."
