Arcia awarded Rawlings Minor League Baseball Gold Glove
BILOXI, MS - The accolades for Biloxi Shuckers shortstop Orlando Arcia continue to stack up as on Monday morning, the 21-year-old was named the Rawlings Gold Glove Award winner at shortstop in Minor League Baseball.
The Southern League postseason All-Star and Milwaukee Brewers Minor League Player of the Year appeared in 123 games at shortstop this season, notching a .978 fielding percentage and led the league in total chances (585), putouts (196), assists (376) and double plays (82). The Anaco, Venezuela native committed just 13 errors over 123 games, ranking second among qualifying Southern League shortstops.
Arcia was a part of a Shuckers' defense that ranked second in the league in fielding percentage (.982) during the inaugural season and led the league in assists.

The Shuckers open the 2016 season on April 7 for a Southern League Championship Series rematch against the Chattanooga Lookouts at MGM Park. The opening seven-game homestand features five games against the Lookouts and two games against the Mobile BayBears.
