CORPUS CHRISTI - If you follow the No. 21 Texas Longhorns or eighth-ranked Oklahoma Sooners and want to catch the Red River Rivalry, or any other televised game this weekend, you'll be able to do so at Whataburger Field.
It's not an either/or situation for football and live music fans on Saturday. The Horns and Sooners kick off at 2:30 and Ziegfest gates open at the same time for a nine-hour, nine-act concert extravaganza at the home of the Corpus Christi Hooks. Football fans can catch the 105th meeting between UT and OU on any of the television screens in the ballpark, including three 50-inch TVs located in the Ziegfest beer garden, provided by Conn's.
"This is a Texas-themed musical event and it goes without saying that football plays a huge role in our state's culture," said Ryan-Sanders Entertainment executive vice president JJ Gottsch, coordinator of the event. "This will be the best of both worlds."
